Veteran Painting Contractor is Rose-Bowl Bound Courtesy of Purdy.

"GRANDDADDY OF THEM ALL" was top choice of Grand-Son Painting & Decorating Owner

– Mark Collinson, owner of Grand-Son Painting & Decorating in Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan, is the delighted winner of a trip for two to the bowl game of his choice, courtesy of Purdy. The Rose Bowl was the obvious choice for the secretary of the Greater Detroit chapter of the Painting & Decorating Contractors of America.

"I chose the Rose Bowl because I’ve always been a big Michigan fan and my two children both graduated from the University of Michigan," said Mark. "This is my first trip to the Rose Bowl, so as you can imagine, I’m thrilled to be heading to Pasadena for the game," Mark added.

Mr. Collinson received two tickets to the college bowl game of his choice by winning the painting contractor category of the 2007 Purdy Pigskin Challenge College Football Game. "We couldn’t be happier for Mark," said Purdy Senior Product Manager, Tom Hatcher. "This game was a fun way to interact with professional painters and Mark consistently showed his skill and knowledge of the college game."

Mark has owned and operated Grand-Son Painting & Decorating since 1986, choosing the name because his grandfather was a master painter in England before emigrating to the United States. His family heritage is important to Collinson, who learned to paint alongside his father, himself a professional painter for a number of years.

The veteran contractor has had Purdy applicators in his hands consistently in the 20+ years of serving his customers and frequently uses Purdy White Dove roller covers on the jobsite. Certainly, Collinson is hoping to see his Michigan Wolverines roll over the USC Trojans in the Rose Bowl.
